For those who would like to go out for a meal as a change from self-catering at 2BHappy check out Anita’s latest recommendation below.
No.2: Neighbourgoods Market in Braamfontein.
Neighbourgoods Market happens every Saturday. Because it is so centrally located to many nice things to do in Joburg and the area is funky. The Neighbourgoods Market is the place where Anita goes for fresh oysters, MCC (South African champagne), alternative clothes and décor and good food. (She goes next door to do the Jozi Hustle, a cycling race through the city which happens the first Thursday of every month).
Should you want to spread your wings, walk across Nelson Mandela bridge to Newtown and stroll in the park there, or explore the rest of Braamfontein. Absolutely well worth a visit.
The website says:
“Housed in a modernist building that has a spectacular 15-story wall mural by the famed artist Eduardo Villa, the market is as much a source for farm fresh foods and specialty goods as it is a meeting point to enjoy community, swap ideas and stories, and be inspired by the energy that makes Joburg.”
