2B Happy Backpackers’ Lodge is centrally located in one of Johannesburg’s oldest suburbs, near to the CBD. Yeoville is a unique neighbourhood that is in the vibrant heart of Johannesburg.

We pride ourselves in providing comfortable and cheap accommodation. We provide friendly, helpful assistance where your comfort and safety take precedence. In addition we set out to create an exceptional experience for our guests.

2B Happy Backpackers’ Lodge has easy access to public transport and the Baz Bus route. We are close to Newtown, Nelson Mandela House and the Apartheid Museum. We are only a short drive away from amenities that include: restaurants, shops and banks.

We offer special rates to students, volunteers, church and school groups. We can also assist you in joining volunteer groups.

Affordable accommodation

2B Happy Backpackers’ Lodge provide spacious, comfortable and cheap accommodation for a maximum of 15 guests at any given time. We offer 2 en suite accommodations at R160 per person.

• The Earth Cottage will accommodate 3 people.
• The Romance Room will accommodate 2 people.

The 2 dormitory style rooms will accommodate 4 and 6 people per room.  Our tariffs for our 4-bed and 6-bed dorms are R100 per person.

The dorms share a communal bathroom that will be cleaned daily.  We will provide linen, but towels will only be available at an additional cost.

Lounge

The communal lounge is spacious and tastefully furnished with comfortable seating for all.  Satellite TV (DSTV) is available in the lounge.  There are also board games and a pool table for those looking for more active forms of entertainment.  The lounge has comfortable couches, a gas heater as well as a fire place for those chilly evenings.

Kitchen

2B Happy Backpackers’ Lodge has a well-equipped communal kitchen.  If you don’t fancy cooking you can order a meal at an additional cost.  Precooked, frozen traditional meals are also available at an additional cost. These can be defrosted in our microwave oven.  Tea and coffee are provided at no cost.

Garden

Relax outside in our peaceful garden and soak up some sun. Our guests are welcome to make use of the braai (barbeque) area outside. For unparalleled peace and relaxation, why not take a nap in our hammock. Make use of our comfortable open air boma (fire place) for evenings under the stars.  Wood may be purchased for this purpose.

Facilities

As far as the facilities are concerned, the following should be noted:

• Wireless internet is provided; the first 20MB are free.
  
• Meals are available at an additional cost.
  
• 2B Happy Backpackers’ Lodge is run as a smoke-free zone. Smokers are welcome to smoke outside in our beautiful garden.
  
• Children are welcome. We can accommodate guests using crutches. Unfortunately no ramps for wheelchairs are available.
  
• Animals will only be allowed if arrangements were made.
  
• Satellite TV (DSTV) is available in our communal lounge.
  
• Make use of our braai area and boma. Wood may be purchased.
  
• Laundry service is available at an additional cost.
  
• Guests are encouraged to support local businesses and experience Yeoville. We are within walking distance of the local supermarket, restaurants, take aways and liquor stores. 2B Happy Backpackers’ Lodge does not have a bar.
• We arrange transport to 2B Happy Backpackers’ Lodge from the airport and stations at an additional cost. A trip between O.R Tambo International and 2B Happy Backpackers’ Lodge with Ceza, our reliable, lovely and preferred driver, will cost you a competitive R300.
